We've just received the latest color page from Initium #4 by colorist Max Bayo! Here are a couple of closeups:

We cut out the most impressive stuff because we don't want to spoil the final issue for you!

The band has been super busy recording the new bonus song "Chainsaw Witch" and now preparing for the cover photoshoot and to film a music video on October 12-13! We've also been rehearsing for our return live show!

But the most fun thing right now has been coming up with ridiculous shout-outs for all of our backers to post on social media! (These are being posted on different social media accounts so keep your eyes peeled...some of them disappear after 24 hours.) Here's the latest batch:

We're also working on an official stretch goal list, but it looks like we're going to start out with a Queen of Hell foil trading card for all physical backers when we hit $20,000! 

JOSEPH SCHMALKE'S SEVEN YEARS IN DARKNESS

Joseph Schmalke is one of our collaborators on Queen of Hell and also did the cover art for our previous album The Krimson Kult.  Joe has a Kickstarter running right now for his own comic Seven Years in Darkness and it ends in just a few days! Obviously we're big fans of Joe's work or we wouldn't have him on our own stuff! We'll let him describe the book in his own words:

Seven Years in Darkness: Year One - Seventy-two children are conscripted to the Academy of Black Magic for seven years and only seven will see the daylight again.

Getting back to Queen of Hell stuff, we're just about done laying out the Initium CDs. It took a lot of layout feng shui by Nina to fit all the backer names from the original music campaign into the booklet! Speaking of names in booklets, we did not advertise a similar reward on this campaign, but it looks like we'll be adding everyone at Tier 4 and above on this campaign to the credits at the back of issue #4! You deserve the recognition!

HAIL, LEGION OF THUNDER!

Welcome to the Queen of Hell: Initium comic campaign! Many of you will be here from our previous campaign which funded the music and partially funded this comic. Thanks to all of you for returning! And some of you will be brand new to Queen of Hell, and brand new to A Sound of Thunder.  Whether you know it or not, you are now part of the Legion of Thunder! Welcome!!!  

Nina (ASoT vocalist and Queen of Hell creator) and Josh (ASoT guitarist and Queen of Hell editor) shot a welcome video for you!

• RETURN CONCERT ANNOUNCEMENT! Our first show with new drummer Justin on drums will be right where we held our final local show with Chris last year: Reclaim Arcade in Fredericksburg, Virginia!   
  • We'll have an extended set and play some new tunes as well as never-before-played closet-classics and of course your faves! 
  • Just like last time you get unlimited free pinball and arcade gaming all night! Come for a hang, play games with the band, and get your face melted off while you're at it! 
  • We are working on the possibility of this being 1) live streamed, and 2) a pickup event for your Kickstarter rewards. We can't make any promises yet but please stay tuned!
